SUMMARY:K-Street Food Truck
DESCRIPTION:K-Street Food Truck Returns June 27 with Summer Food\, Live Music\, and a Mission \nThe KUMC Fellowship Food Truck\, affectionately known as K-Street\, will return to Pender United Methodist Church on Saturday\, June 27\, beginning at 5:00 p.m.\, offering an evening of delicious food\, live music\, and community fellowship. \nThis year’s event will feature a special summer menu prepared by members of KUMC’s Missions Department and IT Department\, with dishes selected especially for the season. Guests can also enjoy live music from the 1970s and 1980s performed by a fellow church member who is a former singer with the well-known Korean band Shinchon Blues. \nEveryone is welcome to come anytime after 5:00 p.m. to enjoy the food\, music\, and fellowship. \nTickets are currently on sale at Pender. The ticket price includes a donation to support the Philippi Tiny House Project. Because the event is made possible entirely through donated materials\, volunteer labor\, and musical talent\, 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be used to help fund Tiny House construction costs in Philippi. \nCome enjoy a summer evening of great food\, classic music\, and meaningful mission support while helping make a difference in the lives of others. \n

SUMMARY:Pender's Mini Free Pantry
DESCRIPTION:Pender’s Mini Food Pantry: A Small Space with a Big Mission\nThe Pender Mini Food Pantry is officially open and ready to serve our community! This little structure—built as an Eagle Scout Project by one of Pender’s Boy Scouts—is a beautiful example of service\, compassion\, and creativity. \nAt first glance\, it looks a lot like a Little Free Library\, but instead of books\, it’s stocked with nonperishable food for anyone in need. It’s a simple yet powerful way to share kindness and nourishment in our neighborhood. \n📍 Location:\nYou’ll find the pantry at 12301 Alder Woods Drive\, Fairfax\, VA 22033—coming from Route 50\, it’s the second driveway on the left into Pender\, right beside the sidewalk. \n🥫 What’s Inside:\nAs of this writing\, the pantry is filled with a wide variety of items\, including: \n\nCanned tuna\, chicken\, chili\, and soup\nBroth\, vegetables\, pumpkin\, and apple sauce\nShelf-stable milk\, peach slices\, mandarin oranges\, and individual fruit packs\nJello\, pudding cups\, mac and cheese servings\, and mashed potatoes\nCoffee\, oatmeal\, ketchup\, gravy packets\, and cooking oil\n\nIt’s truly a community effort—and every contribution helps keep it going. \n💜 How to Help:\nAnyone is welcome to take what they need or to donate food items to keep the pantry stocked. When you give\, please remember our guiding principle: \nGive with dignity. Donate items you’d feel comfortable using yourself. \n
