We meet at 10:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month in the Pender UMC Library. \nThis is a relaxed\, welcoming time to knit\, crochet\, talk\, and share as we work together. Our handmade items—prayer shawls\, baby blankets\, lap blankets\, scarves\, hats\, slippers and care bags—are lovingly prayed over and then distributed to those in need\, offering comfort\, warmth\, and a tangible reminder of God’s care. \nWhether you’re an experienced crafter\, just learning\, or simply want to stop by for conversation and fellowship\, you are welcome. You don’t need to be actively working on a project to join us—come sit\, chat\, and enjoy the community. \nTogether\, we create more than stitches—we create connections\, prayers\, and gifts of love. \n🧵 All are welcome. SUMMARY:Slavic Festival Concert
DESCRIPTION:A night of Eastern European folk music played on traditional instruments! Balalaika\, domra\, accordion\, bayan\, and more! \nThe Balalaika and Domra Association of America (BDAA) presents our annual Slavic Festival Concert\, which brings together musicians from around the world to perform Slavic folk music\, including Eastern European\, Romani\, and Klezmer musical traditions. The performance is an extravaganza\, featuring virtuoso guest artists with a 60-piece folk orchestra\, all of which are played on instruments unique to this region. \nWe are joined by orchestra conductor Svetlana Nikonova\, balalaika virtuoso Andrei Saveliev\, domra soloist Ekaterina Skliar\, and special guests the Washington Balalaika Society. \nThe BDAA Festival Concert is performed in a different city each year and is the culmination of the BDAA’s annual convention\, which celebrates Eastern European folk music and culture in the US. \nNote:  MaryO is in this orchestra! \nTicket Prices (no extra ticket fees!) \nAdults: $35 \nSeniors & Military: $30 \nStudents: $15 \nChildren 14 & Under: Free \nTicket Link: https://bit.ly/bdaa2026concert
