Washington Balalaika Orchestra Spring Concert

Our Spring Concert, Roma Rhapsody, celebrates the musical traditions of the Roma people (historically called Gypsies, a term that is still preferred by members of this group in some countries), and the stories that were told about them.
From classical gems like Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody #2” and selections from Bizet’s “Carmen.” to popular folk tunes like “Black Shawl” and “Dark Eyes” (“Ochi Chorniye”), you will be captivated by this program created by our Conductor and Artistic Director, Svetlana Nikonova.
The concert will feature electrifying solos from Andrei Saveliev on balalaika and Ekaterina Skliar on domra.
