Bees of the World

Bees are important to all living things on planet earth. They live on all continents except Antarctica. They are so well behaved that you don’t even know they are there! This program will provide an overview of bees of the world of which there are about 20,000 species. Most are not “honeybees”.

Join Branda Kiessling, a certified master Beekeeper and learn about world bees. Questions from the audience will be welcome.

About Branda Kiessling:

Brenda Kiessling is an EAS (Eastern Apiculture Society) Certified Master Beekeeper who lives in Vienna, VA. Since 2002, she has led a beekeeping 4-H Club (called ‘2 B A BEE”) in Fairfax County Virginia: She attends local, regional, and international beekeeping meetings and has travelled to Ireland, France, Ukraine, and Canada for “Apimondia” meetings: – the world honeybee organization. She has kept honeybees “since it was easy”.
